4) Make (Best) Friends
Creating friendships is an essential part of Camp Indy. We believe that children (and all people!) feel happiest and confident when they are connected to others. Which is why we work hard to ensure campers create bonds with each other - this is done through how we structure our activities as well as our staff who are trained to facilitate friendships.
Campers are placed into their elective activities for the week, where they not only get to develop skills, but also create friendships over the course of the week. Campers are also placed into camp groups in the afternoon, who will be of the same gender and roughly the same age. Campers in the group will spend a significant amount of time together; trying new activities, making jokes and having fun.
Our staff are trained to ensure campers are introduced to each other and facilitate ice-breaker games and team building games to ensure campers get the opportunity to meet each other and form friendships.
